Day One - Sail Away - Port Canaveral

Sailing out to Sea

As we sail out of port we are lead by a fire boat and cheered on by the many people who come to see the largest ship to sail out of this channel. This is the Oasis's of the Sea's second cruise out of Port Canaveral. You can see more of the ship in this link; Ship video

I don't think I know any of these people but they we all waving to me on the balcony. I felt like the Pope.

After 23 Disney cruises this my first non-Disney cruise. This ship is not the largest ship in the industry but may be second. It is like you are in floating mall with shops, restaurants and bars.

Room is more than adequate. They do not have the split bathrooms like the Disney Ships. We have an Ocean View balcony which looks small but is fine. Very limited television channel selections with no Fox News is my only complaint.

This is a link to the Ship Web Cam where you can get live pictures of the ship areas.

First night we did My Time Dining. Just the main dinning room but a scheduled time. It was a bit busy but I am sure that was due to the first night. The meal and service was very good.
